No sound is a bummer!
I bought this camera in a rush b/c I needed something for an impromptu trip. The pictures came out beautiful. I didn't know when I bought it that it didn't have sound on the video. (Not sure what Nikon's logic is for that). Had I known, I would have purchased something else. I do not recommend this camera b/c there are plenty of other good cameras out there in the same price range with sound. I paid $125 at Target and I think this model may only be available at Target. Look around, you can definitely find something better
be warned - cannot record sound with video
delightful little camera, takes great pictures,
but we are returning it....
why?, because it does not record sound with the videos.
Videos are otherwise very good (30fps) but NO sound. For us
that's a show stopper, so back it goes....
This is not something you'll find prominently on the outside of the box either. You have to go to page 55 in the manual before you find that out.
WARNING: DO NOT BUY!!!!
We have 2 of these cameras (my wife and son got them for Christmas at the same time)they have both died with exactly the same problem...."LENS ERROR".... if you are considering this camera, do yourself a favor and search Nikon lens error and see what I mean. What a piece of junk!!!! Nikon does not warranty this fault. They call it a "usage error".
